Rosetta Stone Partner for Higher Education

Your Centre sets the rules.
We build the automation.

With ProLingua HUB, the Rosetta Stone engine and your own course materials come together in one place. You can build and manage learning pathways at Centre, department, or lecturer level, while students access the platform using their institutional credentials. Progress and reporting are available to you throughout, giving you a clear view of student engagement and progress. And with 25 languages available, ProLingua HUB goes well beyond English.

What Rosetta Stone brings

The learning engine: a research-based multilingual curriculum, speech recognition, CEFR-aligned levels, and three decades of product development at global scale.

What ProLingua brings

The service around it and a second content library: discipline-specific material written for the degree course, pathway design, your Centre's own rules, institutional SSO, CEFR examinations, attestations, reporting through our API, a help desk and a named contact in Rome.

Figures above are published by Rosetta Stone (rosettastone.com). ProLingua International is an independent company and a Rosetta Stone partner; it is not a Rosetta Stone subsidiary.

A Truly Multilingual Approach

A Language Centre serves a much wider community than an English department. It supports international students, Erasmus students, doctoral researchers, EMI lecturers and administrative staff, often across several languages and according to the needs of the institution.

For over 30 years, we have been helping people and organisations communicate across languages. From our base in Rome, we provide training in 25 languages, working with universities, pontifical institutions, ministries and public bodies. Multilingualism is more than what we teach: it is what we have built our work around since ProLingua was founded in 1992.

Your Centre sets the rules

ProLingua HUB is not a platform your Centre adopts; it is a service your Centre configures. Each Language Centre defines one or more formative projects, and for each of them the rules it wants applied to its own students. We design those rules with you, and we build the automation behind them.

Profiling and placement

Profile students only when you need to. If your Centre already has the information we need, such as their department, degree programme, level and learning objective, we can place them directly. If that information is not available, students complete a profiling process first. ProLingua HUB then automatically assigns each student to the right learning pathway based on their language, level, department, and objective.

Follow-up

How often the system prompts students who have stopped working, and which administrative group receives the progress reports.

Reporting

The reports your Centre needs are already built in. You can track pathway completion, examination results, progress over time and students who have stopped engaging. If you need something different, we build it for you and make it available in your own space. Reports can also be delivered automatically, either through scheduled notifications to the groups you choose or directly into your systems via our API. Examination reports go beyond the final result, showing exactly which areas of the syllabus each student needs to work on.

Assessment

Items drawn at random from our database. Standard papers, or papers adapted with your lecturers. A mid-course simulation, a final test, or none at all because the examination stays with your Centre.

Certificates

Certificates can be issued automatically when a student completes a pathway or released by your Centre when you decide. They can be linked to an exam or issued without one, and are co-signed by your Centre.

Pathways

Three ways: ready to run, designed with your Centre around its degree courses, or built by a lecturer for a blended class. Plus preliminary routes for students starting below the level required for admission.

Access & data

Students sign in with institutional credentials, on any device, in an environment that can be white-labelled as yours. Examinations can be hosted in your own Moodle. All results are handled under GDPR.

General language meets subject-specific content

A general language course is not the same as the language a Law, Medicine or Engineering student needs for their studies and exams. Alongside the Rosetta Stone catalogue, we have our own content designed for specific academic disciplines. We bring the two together in one guided pathway, so students can access everything they need in one place.

If your Centre needs content that is not yet available for a particular department, we create it for you and add it to the pathway alongside the existing content.

Your lecturers can build their own courses

Pathways can be ready to use, designed with your Centre around specific degree courses, or built by a lecturer for a blended class.

Lecturers can bring together Rosetta Stone content, ProLingua materials and activities from our database, then assign them to their own classes and see each student’s progress. If they need something more specific, they can also request new interactive activities for a particular course.

Results are automatically added to the class report and can be exported or sent directly to the university’s systems through our API, with all data handled in accordance with GDPR.

Less administration for your team

The challenge is not demand: it is the time your staff have available.

Placement, assignments, reminders, progress checks and certificates all take time. By automating these tasks, your team can support a larger student population without compromising the quality of the service. More importantly, it gives your staff more time to focus on teaching and supporting students.

We measure completion rather than the time spent online. Directors and administrators can see how each cohort is progressing, from participation and completed activities to thresholds reached and certificates issued.

We also believe in being clear about what our certificates are. ProLingua certificates are institutional documents issued and recognised by the Centre under its agreement with us. They are not external certifications, and we do not present them as such. When an external certification is required, it can be included in the pathway as a separate component.

The same principle applies to integration. Today, ProLingua HUB supports institutional single sign-on, examinations hosted in your own Moodle environment and an API that sends data back to your systems.

Assessment built around your requirements

Alongside the learning pathway, we design and deliver university suitability examinations online. The exams are computer-based and cover three areas: Grammar, Reading and Listening. Our item bank is organised by level and includes both general and discipline-specific versions of the same assessment.

We also provide accessible versions for students with specific learning differences. These are designed as part of the assessment itself and tracked separately, rather than treated as individual exceptions.

We take particular care of how comprehension questions are written. The correct answer never simply repeats the wording of the passage. It requires the student to understand and process the meaning, while wording taken directly from the text is used in the distractors.

Eight questions to ask any provider

A «no» to any one question does not necessarily rule out a provider. But taken together, the answers tell you something a product demonstration cannot: whether the service is built around your Centre’s requirements or the provider’s.

We have answered the same eight questions ourselves. You will find our answers on the back of the card we hand out at the stand.

01 · Design

Who designs the learning pathway: your team or ours? And do you provide content for specific degree courses, or only general language training?

02 · Rules

Can my Centre, an individual department or even a single lecturer set the rules for their own students?

03 · Thresholds

Can my Centre define what counts as completion and decide whether an examination is required for a certificate?

04 · Reporting

Does your reporting measure completion and progress, or simply time spent online?

05 · Access & data

Can my students sign in with their institutional login, and can we send the data back to our systems automatically?

06 · Languages

How many languages do you offer beyond English, and up to which CEFR level? Can staff use them too, or are they only available to students?

07 · Authoring

Can my Centre create and adapt pathways and examinations for its degree courses, and can individual lecturers do the same for their blended classes? Can the examinations be hosted in our Moodle?

08 · Transparency

Are the documents you issue external certifications, or are they private attestations recognised by the institution?

In sintesi

Noi trasformiamo queste regole in automazioni.
